Homecoming

This original mixed media painting portrays a quiet moment of rest, inspired by the lingering warmth of summer days spent at my mother's home. A ginger cat sleeps peacefully in a familiar embrace while, just beyond the window, a small bird has made its nest deep within the thuja hedge. It is a celebration of the moments that often pass unnoticed yet remain with us long after they are gone. Layers of acrylic, colored pencils, gold pencil and genuine gold leaf create rich texture and gentle luminosity, while the linen-textured paper adds depth and character to the composition.
