September Harvest

This original watercolor portrays a pair of classic Swedish apples, inspired by late summer walks through the orchards of Skokloster Castle. For me, the scent of ripe apples will always bring to mind the first homemade apple pie of September and the gentle transition from summer to autumn. Transparent watercolor washes and subtle variations of green create freshness and depth while preserving the simplicity of the composition.
