Amber Plumage

This original watercolor portrays a hen in warm brown tones with softly rendered feathers. The painting is inspired by the hens in the park near my home, where I often return to observe their movements, forms and subtle expressions. This particular hen’s calm presence and full plumage drew my attention, and I wanted to capture that gentle, earthy character in watercolor. Warm layered washes and fine feather details create depth while maintaining a soft, natural expression.
